Hope you enjoy this list of unacceptable titles for children's books that were published in _Publisher's Weekly_ via the Akron Beacon Journal.

I know this isn't the subject of the month, but I thought it was appropriate. Michele

     From the Akron Beacon Journal:

Publisher's Weekly reports on rejected ideas for children's books.
Consider, for example, "a travel series told from the point of view of
     a tire."
Among the titles that were turned down:

*My Master Jesus, about Jesus' fictional dog.

*Chaim the Hanukkah Reindeer, in which the reindeer's antlers were
drawn in the shape of a menorah.

*Try Not to Stare at the Giants, Honey, described as a "work of
     nonfiction about giantism."

*Mommy Swings, "A primer on manic depression," says PW, although
the title implies a range of other interpretations.

*My Peg Leg Grandpa, a story about a man who "does tricks with his
peg leg," then dies and leaves it to his granddaughter.

*The Little Train That Could But Chose Not To, which PW describes
as "a tale of empowerment for the New Age.
