Has anyone read Stones to Water by Donna Jo Napoli? I haven't finished it yet but I find it riveting. It takes place during World War II, when two Italian boys, one of whom is Jewish, are rounded up by German Soldiers and sent to a work camp. It is a fast moving adventure story which gives a vivid portrayal of the atrocities of war. A great read for middle and high school age boys...girls, also. I hope to see it on someone's "best of '97" list. Alice Campanella Librian - Wellesley Middle School Wellesley, Massachusetts
