In response to Micky Nevett's question, the chair of the 1998 Newbery Award Committee is Ellen Fader (Portland, Oregon) and the 1998 Caldecott Award Committee chair is John Warren Stewig (Milwaukee, Wisconsin). Each committee is composed of 15 members including the chair. These committee decisions and those of the Batchelder Award Committee and the Coretta Scott King Awards Committee will be announced on Monday morning, January 12.
