I am the director of the Curriculum Materials Center at Moorhead State University. Last week a book discussion group I belong to discussed books picture books written and illustrated by Peter Sis. A number of his books are appropriate for older readers, including
"Follow the Dream," " A Small Tall Tale from the Far Far North,"
"Starry Messenger," and "The Three Golden Keys." We found much use of symbolism and certainly found connections among his books, such as in his use of walls. We were wondering how children have responded to his books. Does anyone have experience using his books with older students? Carol H.
