Picture Books for Older Readers

Another book like The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Van Allsburg is When You're Not Looking...:A Storytime Counting Book by Maggie Kneen. It looks more childish, but has strange pictures and captions that could spark some creative ideas. I've also shown Zoom and ReZoom by Istvan Banyai, where each picture is a part of a larger picture, to older readers, although there are no words. Of course, there is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, and Love You Forever by Robert Munsch, which is probably best understood by adults.
