Perhaps some of you want to go think about Historical Fiction beyond the World War Two time period. Which other works of Historical Fiction do you admire, and why?
I understand that the novel Jip by Katherine Paterson (Lodestar/Dutton, 1996) won the 1997 Scott O'Dell Award for outstanding historical fiction. If anyone in the CCBC-NET community has served on the Scott O'Dell Award jury in the past, can you tell us what criteria are used to determine excellence for this award acknowledging outstanding historical fiction? ...
