I guess I am another lurker. I enjoy reading all the responses. My fifth grade class reads 2 pieces of historical fiction. We just finished _Letters from Rifka_ by Karen Hess, which takes place during WWI. Now we are reading _Number the Stars_, which as you know takes place during WWII. Both of these books are loved by my students, which keeps them on the reading list for next year.
