I thoroughly enjoyed . I felt , for the most part, the characterizations were "flesh and blood", and the emotions elicited by the style and story development were well presented. However - I am an adult one who will not be influenced by the lack of historical authenticity. Much as I enjoyed reading it, I did not recommend it to my 11 and 12 year old grandaughters, who are avid readers, because I questioned the wisdom of their "learning history" when so much has been fictionalized. I know I would have "taken it as fact" when I was their ages, however, perhaps our youth are not as naive as I was "in the dark ages" - and I am wrong. Who knows, perhaps they have already read it!!!
