In response to KT Hornings comments on the Molly Bang book. 9/8/97
I really appreciated your comments on Molly Bang's "The Grey Lady and the strawberry Snatcher," When I was teaching Children's Lit. a most unlikely undergraduate student recommended it to me. I read it - and my reaction was
"huh?" When the student shared it, later, with the class, it took on a whole new meaning. So - if we allow ourselves to suspend pre-conceived notions, , perhaps we will not "turn up our noses" to some "different" children's books - rather it could open up new worlds to us, like it obviously did to the child you mentioned - and my-more-perceptive-than-I college student!!
