Serial murderers

Alas, serial killers are NOT a phenomena unique to the U.S. The ex-Soviet Union, France (Bluebeard, after all), Great Britain, to name but three industrial nations also have their share of serial killers. History also records many. But now, thanks to the speed and miracle of immediate news, the word spreads fast and faster. Whether or not this is positive is quite another question.

What Cormier did so smoothly in "Tenderness" is to make Eric attractive, sympathetic. But the girl--now that's a different matter. We know what HIS problem is. What's hers?
