I am really enjoying the discussion of Tenderness. I am a recent subscriber and you are all providing me with a great education! I am new, professionally speaking, to the library world - working in an elementary (k-5) building for the past three years. The area of young adult fiction is very new to me.
My question for the group - besides the age of the characters, what makes this a book for teens? My 15 year old daughter will read almost everything she gets her hands on but when I suggested this book
(cautiouosly), giving her a brief description, she declined. Tenderness is a great thought and discussion provoking novel. Would a teenager discuss this book with peers? Would their perceptions of the characters be different than ours? Thanks for all your comments!
