Hi there! I just finished reading Walk Two Moons, a 1995 Newberry Award Winner, and was completely in awe of it. I was captivated by the "story/ies within a story" structure of the book and the realistic protrayal of young people's curiousity, imagination, and ways of dealing with family trauma. Throughout the book I found myself asking questions right along with the characters, reliving parts of my own adolescent experiences, and, in the final pages, mourning right along with those same characters.

The themes of friendship, loss, and family were quiet remniscent of Katherine Patterson's Bridge To Teribithia, another award winner. Although I am lacking in my "classic" reading of children's and young adult literature, I feel safe in saying that this book will stand the test of time in years to come. Anybody out there have comments? I'd love to hear them.
