Joyful Noise reply

In response to Karen's request, I have used poetry from "Joyful Noise" with a sixth grade class. I introduced it by "reading it cold" with another teacher-so the students could realize that it is diffficult, but FUN to read, for everyone, even the "resident experts!" I then read a different poem from the book "cold" with a sixth grade student, who reads at a sixth grade level. It was a bit difficult to get through (I think we did Whirligig Beetles), but we got through it and had a great time with it! The kids couldn't wait to read them together and write their own dialogue poetry! Has anyone out there used Joyful Noise 2? I'm not sure what it's called, but I'd like to see how it went over with middle school kids?
