Good morning!
I am intrigued by the part of the announcement (regarding the Intellectual Freedom Award given to Ginny and CCBC) that says:
"she has dedicated most of her professional career to the mission of promoting intellectual freedom in a positive way by dealing with issues before the censors strike."
How has Ginny (or others) promoted intellectual freedom by dealing with issues BEFORE the censors strike. What does that mean? What does it LOOK like in practice?
I am an early childhood doc student, so don't have a background/training to get a handle on what this means, and appreciate your comments as I come to understand this issue.
