I'm not sure if this is the appropriate time to post this message, but I just received the inquiry and response about books about Africa, so I figured this was as good a time as any. I am student teaching in a sixth grade classroom and we are beginning a unit on Southeast Asia quite soon and are looking for authentic folk tales and books which accurately depict the cultures of Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand. I am considering using a few picture books, such as Dia's Story Cloth, but I'm wondering if anyone has used these books with middle school kids and what response they got?
