Rob Reid's comments about the Newbery winner and honor books prompts me
to also comment since I treated myself this weekend to reading THE VIEW
FROM SATURDAY. I must admit, it took several starts to get into it. I
kept going back to the beginning to see what I had missed. But once I
got into it, I really did enjoy it. I think it's meant for a pretty
sophisticated reader, but I can think of a few in my school. Another
book I read and thoroughly enjoyed this weekend was THE BALLAD OF LUCY
WHIPPLE. I did use quite a few tissues through the last quarter of the
book. I'm a sucker for that kind of story. Now I've started THE BOMB
by Theodore Taylor. If we're not discussing anything else, would
anyone care to comment on that one? Kathy Born, Internet Coordinator/Librarian Our Lady of Victory School Cincinnati, OH Born_K at hcca.ohio.gov
