Pat, your message brought tears to my eyes. What is happening in our world? Are we afraid to accept that we are not all alike in our "language patterns"?- in our mores. accepted slang. Must we "hide our light under a bushel?" I agree that I don't always "like" every book published, and find some offensive as an older adult, but I can't condone censorship of the kind you describe. I remember well thet in the "olden days" when I was young, everytime someone told us "not to read" a certain book, my sister and I always located it and read it surreptitiously. We didn't always understand it, but thought we had committed a real "coup." I wish I had some sage advice for you. I fear it is representative of the times, to much too great an extent.
