One of the most wonderful jobs I've had has been working in the library of a grade school: high windows, and in winter geraniums along the windowsills, along with many, many books. One of my favorite poetry books there was / in IN FOR WINTER OUT FOR SPRING with the Jerry Pinkney illustrations (Did I enjoy the ds on him!).
As an instructor (college level) my students respond to Browning's "The Last Duchess" (my? sorry, the fingers moved too quickly), and T. S. Eliot's "Magi."
Do any of you remember the poetry book THERE IS NO RHYME FOR SILVER? As we worked in the library, we would consider potential rhymes, but we never found one . . . .
