Yes, CCBC-NET will post the ALA children's book award announcements on Monday, Feb. 17. The awards will be announced mid-morning in Washington, D.C. We'll make certain that the CCBC-NET community gets the news during the afternoon. Incidentally, Katy Horning is chair of the ALA/ALSC Mildred Batchelder Award Committe this year, so she'll be directly involved with the press conference. Megan Schliesman and I will be there, too. Award winners and honor books to be announced on 2/17: Newbery, Caldecott, Batchelder, Coretta Scott King (author), and Coretta Scott King (illustrator). Stay tuned! Sincerely, Ginny

Will the Newbery and Caldecott awards be announced on this listserv? For many of us in the great Northeast who work in schools that week is a vacation week. I plan to leave my mail active, so I hope the announcements will be on this serv. F. McElligott
