Ginny, thank you so much for sharing Lois Lowery's "thoughts" with us. How beautiful!! It surprised me that either of those books were objectionable. She has always been a favorite of mine because she is 1) an excellent writer and 2) she presents her "stories" in such a way the reader reaches introspectively into his or her own psyche and evaluates - or reevaluatespersonal feelings and, perhaps is better for it. This, I believe, is a result of the way she writes - not because that is her goal. Have you read the "Celistine Prophecy"? At times I didn't enjoy it, but, it sure may me stop and "look where I was coming from." So-with Lois Lowery - at least that's my viewpoint-for what it is worth!
