Perhaps three separate issues can be considered: Could Sam and Tigers be a landmark book without any historical reference to LBS?
(Would adults, who purchase the books, do so if not connecting to LBS?) Is LBS worthwihle beyond the racial fires it now ignites? ( I read LBS as a child in an all-white world. Was I led to some form of racist perception? We grown and learn. Is there some degree of culpability by the publisher in this argument...I think so.. We can speak with our wallets to tell merchants we are aware of marketing stratagies. There are many good books for kids, more than when I learned to read
