Just a reminder of the Discussion topics we've planned for CCBC-Net for the next few months:
Second part of October: The books of Jerry Pinkney, including "Sam and the Tigers" (Dial, 1996); "John Henry" (Dial, 1995); and "Minty" (Dial, 1996).
November 1996: Narrative in children's science books with a particular focus on the books of Laurence Pringle (Dinosaurs: Strange and Wonderful; Scorpion Man; Being a Plant, etc.) and the Magic School Bus series by Joanna Cole & Bruce Degen.
December 1996: Annual Round Up - CCBC-Net subscribers comment on the titles they think are the best of the year.
January 1997: The books of Lois Lowry with a special emphasis on "Number the Stars" (Houghton, 1989) and "The Giver" (Houghton, 1993).
