Sam and Babaji

By the way, I have been conducting some absolutely unrigorous research about this story. I have read one or the other (or sometimes both) Sam and Babaji to various groups of teachers (and a few non-teachers). I am still working on the statistical regression analyses, but there is some age below which none of these people have heard of this story before. I give no introduction/background and just read the story. Then I ask if this story reminds them of anything. The people below X years of age have no glimmer of recognition (and many comment about how strange it is to have a story in which tigers turn to butter.) Virtually all the 'older' ones instantly recognize Babaji and also the Sam version. I think it's interesting to see the degree to which the story has been removed from the lives of these younger adults.
