Thanks to Rob Reid for pointing out the "Time" magazine article about the new editions of "Little Black Sambo." We will be discussing "Sam and the Tigers" next month when we focus on the picture books of Jerry Pinkney, but it's handy to have the reference to the Sept 9 "Time" article now when it will be fairly easy for a lot of people to track down.
While we're on the subject of upcoming discussions, I've added the information about the CCBC-Net discussion topics through December to the CCBC's web site at http://www.soemadison.wisc.edu/ccbc/
In November we'll be looking at narrative in children's science books, with particular reference to the books of Laurence Pringle. In December, we'll do an annual round-up that will give all of you the opportunity to recommend the best books of 1996.
