I sent this message two days ago, and must have messed up on my "send" message - it returned to me. So, here it is again.
Greetings from Cleveland. As I am busy, busy, busy writing up the annotations on books which I reviewed at the CCB Center, I recall how much I enjoyed chatting with each of you and also how impressed I was with the quality and quantity ( for such a small space) of the collection there. You can be proud of your work!!
I'm feeling good abaout my bibliography - I'm <almost> seeing a "light at the end of the tunnel". When I reach the point at which I am no longer adding new titles, I'll send you my rough list of entries - in spread sheet form. You may see some source missing. I'm open to any and all suggestions.
At the moment, I do have a request to make of you. I wrote a notation on a book
(perhaps pamphlet) written by Naomi Caldwell-Wood, published by the American Indian Library Assn, 1991 - but compoletely failed to write down the title, page numbers, or ISBN (if one). Would you email that information to me? I think I had decided to wrte AILS about purchasing a copy, but,for now, I would like to finish my annotation. I hope I don't run across other that way!! I still have about half of the titles I found to finish writing up.
Ginny, my friend Judy tells me she has signed up for the sessions on African and Latino Lit you are doing at Madison this Fall. Should be great, I'm jealous!
I'm still trying to find some time to mock-up my response to The Cuckoo's Child. I'm enjoying the interesting comments so many have made. I'll get it in before the month is over - I promise. I'm looking forward to the discussions on J. Pinkney's illustrations. He is one of my favorites. (I also like Brian Pinkney's illustrtions, although they are very diffierent from Jerry's)
The best to all of you, Maggie Denman-West
