Having the title or author well ahead of time is pretty helpful, I'll admit. Last year during discussions, about four months of discussion titles were posted at one time. But even a month's lead time is usually sufficient for most of us to tap into the vast networked resources of....interlibrary loan! Almost any book we've ever discussed has been available to me through ILL within a month if I need it.
We can't purchase every new book discussed in a timely manner but neighboring public libraries and ILL have never failed me yet in delivering the book being discussed when I need it.
