one more opinion

I also have been enjoying the difference in opinion. It gives me a better idea of the my fellow ccbc -netters. It seems to me there is room for both functions.

I enjoy lurking on the indepth book discussions, but, like another commenter, rarely can produce a title in question in time to read or re-read it and join in the discussion. (Our books have a one month circulation period, so a few weeks is not enough time to get books. We have no special children's bookstore here.)

I also enjoy seeing the lists posted. Perhaps the solution would be to do something like stumpers does: they use punctuation in the subject line to indicate the nature of a message, a ? to indicate a question, a ! to indicate an answer, etc. If we adopted a similar practice, the people who were bothered by lists could simply delete them.

It seemed to me that we got more active participants in the list when the lists were being posted.
