Interesting, isn't it, how Entertainment Weekly assumes that a servant in a wealthy New York City household in the early 1960s would be Black... I always assumed Ole Golly was white because she, her mother and her fiance Mr. Waldenstein all appear to be white in Fitzhugh's illustrations.
