Speaking of poetic forms of biography, I feel like I'm seeing a real trend in picture book biography in my stacks of review books--the really poetic one on Booker T Washington learning to read, last year, and this year Kathy Krull's picture book on Wilma Rudolph and (just recently) one about Harriet Tubman, illustrated by Jerry Pinkney. They all do an interesting thing of zooming in on a childhood incident or incidents and making that the main focus. I've been really impressed and inspired and hope those are being used. Jane Kurtz
