I agree with Rob Reid that the "Meet the Author" series is both fun and useful for lower grade children (especially those 2nd and 3rd graders who need an autobiography), but his library doesn't seem to own my favorite of the series (and, arguably, the best, too). It's MY MYSTERIOUS WORLD, by Margaret Mahy. In the brief text, she manages to convince the reader that her own personal life is every bit as fascinating as that of a character in one of her remarkable novels. And, if you've been lucky enough to meet her and hear her speak, you know that's absolutely true!
