Ginny and everyone-- I find Vera Williams books enchanting to read aloud, and I rarely travel without at least one of her books in my bag when I am on tour. Her lyrical writing really enchants the kids, especially 3 to 6 year olds! I have had several adults tell me that she simply screams to be read aloud, and I tend to agree, as the audience gets drawn in by her language.
But her art is what got me first, and that is unusual as I (by necessity, as a storyteller) am always focusing on the text. _More, More, More Said the Baby_ is my favorite.
I was also pleasantly surprised by _Scooter_ as I was not familiar with her writing at that level.
I look forward to everyone's thoughts.

P.S. I think I am going to go upstairs and reread all her books now....
