Thanks to those of you who have contributed to our Caldecott Medal Winners discussion this week. Please feel free to continue the discussion of these books.

Next week we will be adding the 1996 Newbery Medal winner and Honor Books to our discussion. As a reminder these books are:
"The Midwife's Apprentice" by Karen Cushman (Clarion) and Honor Books:
"The Great Fire" by Jim Murphy (Scholastic)
"The Watsons Go to Birmingham -- 1963" by Christopher Paul Curtis
                (Delacorte)
"What Jamie Saw" by Carolyn Coman (Front Street)
"Yolonda's Genius" by Carol Fenner (McElderry)

We discussed "The Midwife's Apprentice" back in November but I'm sure we can still find more to say about it! For those of you who are new to CCBC-Net, or for any old-timers who may wish to reread the comments posted about "Midwife's Apprentice" last November, you can obtain this file from the archives by sending a message that looks like this:
   TO: IN%:listserv at ccbc.soemadison.wisc.edu
   SUBJECT: get ccbc-net 11.1995

This will bring up all the discussion on CCBC-Net for the month of November, most of which related to "The Midwife's Apprentice." We had some very astute comments posted by observant readers of this book, so it'd definitely be worth the effort. We have been having a bit of a problem with the server shutting down occasionally, so if you try to retrieve a file from the archives and get a strange-looking message back, simply try again until the message goes through.

We are looking forward to another week of good discussion!
