Is there anyone out there who could tell me the title and author of a short story that appeared in a basal reader (Texas adoption) in 1964h? The story was about a junior high boy who finally got the nerve to call his favorite girl for a movie date. He wanted so much to impress her. All during the movie he enjoyed looking sideways at his prize; in fact, he looked so much that he developed a terrific headache. On the walk home, they stopped at the local drug store for a coke. He decided it would be more mature if he had a cup of coffee and a bromaseltzer for his headache. When his order arrived, he popped the bromaselter in his mouth without first letting it fizz in water. The noise that resulted was so intense the pharmacist laid him out on the drug counter. He fizzed and he fuzzed and he rumbled! It came time for his girl to be home; so she left him high and but not dry, rumbling on that counter.

I would love to find this story. Please help.
