Well, I don't know if the discussion has officially started, but I'm leaving for vacation in half an hour, and I just wanted to make a comment about The Haunting and The Changeover. What I first found so wonderful in these books is that the magic seems to fit so well into everday life -- it's fantastic, but believable! What I appreciated , as well, and what I think make these books good literature besides being good fantasy, is that, in them, the wielding of magic seems to be metaphorical of maturity. That is: Cole, Troy, Chant, and Sorry -- through their magic -- learn something about being human.
And that's it for me until next week. I'm looking forward to see what people have to say -- sorry if I jumped the gun!
