Regarding the cover art for "The Haunting," I have a CoverCraft edition of the title. It has a boy and girl on it; the girl has her hands raised in the air, the boy is backing away from her. There are sparkles around them, sort of like Disney's Magic Kingdom, suggesting something eerie. The artwork would appeal to children, but it is not spectacular.
Ginny asked about children's interest in the book. My library's copy (a K-4 school) has been borrowed 14 times in 5 years. I find that books really move after I've booktalked them. This one will certainly be added to my list. Thanks for introducing it to me.
