I just reread WALK TWO MOONS for the second time and it was just as wonderful. Once the book has been read once and the truth is known, there are so many clues to see, but these do not at all distract or detract from a second reading. In fact, I found that knowing the ending added even greater emotional tenor to the book as the veil is completely lifted on Sal's pain so that readers can appreciate so much more the second time around how much this child wanted and needed to believe a different truth for awhile longer, and how amazing her grandparents were in supporting that need without ever giving in to it.

(It's hard to talk about this book without giving anything away the ending for first-time readers!)
