This is Carla Kozak, from San Francisco Public Library (Chinatown Branch). I thought that my first comments would be about WALK TWO MOONS, but I find that they have to be about Frances Temple. I've only read THE RAMSAY SCALLOP (if one can say "only" about that book!), but I was looking forward to many more books like that one. Ginny, thank you for the background on Frances. I wish I could have met her (I would have loved to have been in Madison last spring to do so--a missed opportunity).

Just now it is her age--so young!--and her activities on her last day that are making me feel my own mortality. I too love dancing, swimming and walking dogs. As I read about this, I had a vision from THE RAMSAY SCALLOP-when Master Roger falls from cathedral platform, and Elenor's vision after witnessing this tragedy: "She felt herself become a bird and wheel off into the blue sky, rowing with arched wings."
