Joseph Koykkar (composer/conductor/keyboardist/sound
designer)
His compositional guiding principles are clarity of structure, economy of
musical materials, and directness of communication.

His discography includes an all chamber music CD on Northeastern Records;
Composite for Orchestra on the MMC label; Triple Play on volume 3 of the SEAMUS
series; and Double Take on the In-Sync label. His compositions are published
by MMB Music (St. Louis), Belwin-Mills (Miami), and See Saw Music (New York).
Recent compositions are published by JNK MUSIC (Madison). His works have been
performed extensively throughout the United States and in Europe and South
America. He has composed in a variety of media including chamber music, orchestral
scores, music for dance, film/video scores, and electronic music.
Joseph Koykkar is a Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where
he teaches courses in electroacoustic music for the Interarts & Technology
Program, and is Music Director for the UW-Madison's Dance Program.
